Marie Headboard

£325

Based on a headboard we saw in a Parisian flea-market, this chic bed is all about detail. Each stud is meticulously hammered in by hand with just the right spacing before the next one. We reckon it does the original version justice.

Customer Reviews

“Extremely well-made with a very solid construction, both our daughters are now in seventh heaven - one has a divan which now looks rather magical with a pretty shaped headboard and the other loves her new bed so much - having just graduated from a single - that I am finding it even harder to get her out of bed in the mornings!”

Our perfect mattress

£525

We're obsessed with comfort, and spent two years testing over 200 mattresses until we found our outright winner. Handmade in Wiltshire, it contains 1400 British individual pocket springs - whereas most others contain poor quality Chinese ones. It's packed with natural, breathable fillings like cotton so you won't overheat - unlike memory foam.  It's then covered in finest Irish damask. And you don’t need to turn it... ever. So, for half the price others would charge, you get a seriously comfy mattress that will last for years.

Regular A good choice if you like a slightly more giving mattress which still supports your body

Firm Filled with lovely soft natural materials, but with firmer springs for extra support. Definitely good for those with bad backs: 90% of our customers go for this one

Extra Firm When we say extra firm, we don't mean concrete! Still snug and filled with lovely natural materials, but with even firmer springs for extra support.

The Long Eaton Bed Story

British upholsterers are alive and well!

The History

Thought British manufacturing had gone to the dogs? Think again! Long Eaton in Derbyshire has long been the centre for upholstery in England. Much of the town’s workforce is entirely focussed on producing handmade furniture. And although a lot of the lower quality production has moved to countries like Poland and China, the higher quality end has remained firmly in Britain. Ask many locals how long they have been upholstering and the normal response is, “Man and boy, mate, man and boy.”

Paul, Andy, Jackie & Julie

The People

"Paul & Jackie" and "Andy & Julie" are the family combo behind our upholstered beds. Die-hard Derby County supporters (unfortunately for them!), they are born and bred furniture people. Andy makes the frames. Paul upholsters them. Jackie looks after the fabrics. Julie sorts the numbers. And their brothers, sisters and grown-up children do all the bits in between like sewing, packaging and delivering. It’s little surprise that their quality is second to none.
